Privacy Policy

Habits Pioneer ("we", "our", or "the app") is a habit tracking and task management application. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights over it.

1. Data We Collect

Habits Pioneer collects only the data you explicitly create inside the app:

  • Habits — name, emoji, frequency, and daily completion history
  • Tasks — title, priority, category, and completion status
  • Sleep logs — bedtime, wake time, quality rating, and habit checklist
  • Pomodoro sessions — session count and duration
  • Shopping list items — name, quantity, and category
  • App preferences — language, theme, and sounds setting
  • Email address — only if you choose to sign in with Google or Apple for cloud sync

We do not collect any information about how you use the app, device identifiers, location, contacts, photos, or any other data beyond what you enter.

2. How Data Is Stored

You have full control over where your data lives:

  • Local mode (no account required): All data is stored exclusively on your device using AsyncStorage. It never leaves your device. We have no access to it.
  • Cloud sync mode (optional): If you choose to sign in, your data is encrypted in transit and stored on Supabase servers (hosted on AWS in the US). Only your account can access your data — enforced by Row Level Security policies.

3. Sign-In (Google & Apple)

Cloud sync uses Google OAuth or Sign in with Apple through Supabase. When you sign in, we receive your email address and a unique identifier to link your data. We do not receive your password, contacts, calendar, or any other account data. If you use Sign in with Apple, you may choose to hide your email, in which case we only receive Apple's private relay address.

4. AI Coach Feature

Habits Pioneer includes an optional AI Coach feature powered by Anthropic (Claude AI). When you use the AI Coach, the messages you send in that session are transmitted to Anthropic's API to generate a response. We do not store your conversations on our servers. Each session starts fresh — no chat history is saved or linked to your account.

The AI Coach may receive a compact, anonymized summary of your habit data (e.g. "3 active habits, daily completion rate 70%") to personalize its responses. This summary is sent only during the session and is not stored. Anthropic processes messages in accordance with their Privacy Policy. You are never required to use the AI Coach.

5. Third-Party Services

Third-party services used by Habits Pioneer:

We do not use advertising networks, analytics SDKs, or crash reporting services.

6. Data Retention & Deletion

Local mode: Your data exists only on your device. Deleting the app removes all data.

Cloud mode: You can permanently delete your account and all associated cloud data at any time from within the app: go to Settings → Cloud Sync → Delete account. This action is irreversible. Your email address and all habit, task, sleep, and pomodoro data will be permanently removed from our servers within 30 days.

7. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, trade, or share your personal data with any third parties, except as required by law.

8. Children's Privacy

Habits Pioneer does not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by updating the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
